Job Title: Mass Tort Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Mass Tort Litigation Paralegal at the law firm is tasked with supporting a national team of attorneys, paralegals, and staff in managing complex mass tort cases. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with all aspects of case management, which involves intake, discovery processes, and tracking and communicating case-related dates, deadlines, and information.
- Preparing for trials, which includes coordinating document productions, retrieving medical records, and managing case deadlines.
- Reviewing and organizing deposition transcripts and discovery materials.
- Maintaining databases and case files using in-house and third-party litigation support platforms.
- Supporting attorneys in deposition and court event preparations through historical research, and creating exhibits and trial binders.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates are expected to possess a bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university. Prior experience working as a paralegal in a litigation environment is highly desired, especially experience related to claim intake and case management. Experience in mass tort, product liability, or complex litigation is considered a plus. Candidates must exhibit attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with conflicting deadlines. Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently on projects are essential. Familiarity with court rules and e-filing procedures in both state and federal courts is required, along with proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Excellent oral and written communication skills are mandatory.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
While not mandatory, a paralegal certificate obtained through an ABA-approved paralegal studies program or from an accredited college or university is welcomed. For positions in California, candidates must meet specific requirements per California legislation (AB 1761), which include having a certificate of completion from an ABA-approved paralegal program, one year of law-related work experience under a licensed attorney, or a certificate or degree from a postsecondary institution requiring completion of law-related courses.

The base salary will be determined during the interview process and may vary based on factors such as prior experience, relevant expertise, and current business needs.
