Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Legal Bill Analysis Center of Excellence (LBACOE), which includes managing Legal Invoice Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts, Operations Support Specialists, Managers, Associate Directors, and the Director.
- Supervise and lead a team of 8+ legal bill review analysts, ensuring their workflow meets or exceeds established standards through defined metrics and process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct prompt, accurate, and efficient audits of electronically submitted legal fee and expense invoices with the team.
- Adjust invoice line-item entries that violate billing guidelines and document justifications for such adjustments.
- Develop, document, and maintain methodologies for training new LBACOE invoice analysts.
- Conduct training for new LBACOE invoice analysts on legal billing review techniques and platforms.
- Assess the training needs of LBACOE invoice analysts regularly and provide ongoing training as needed.
- Create and implement quality assurance methodologies, subject to management approval.
- Monitor and audit LBACOE analyst work to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
- Coordinate and distribute legal bill assignments among team members and verify the accuracy of UTBMS task codes applied to invoice line items.
- Develop a culture of empowerment, engagement, and innovation within the LBACOE.
- Ensure performance excellence and operational efficiencies through evolving organizational structure.
- Monitor daily and long-term LBA delivery production, often based on customer schedules.
- Develop and conduct quality assurance to train and coach LBACOE analysts on legal billing review techniques, customer service levels, and ELM billing platforms.
- Simplify legal service agreements to produce effective operational outputs.
- Create, track, and analyze data on reviewer performance metrics to provide recommendations to management and customers.
- Conduct team events and promote best operational practices to enhance employee engagement.
- Provide support to the organization and customers, focusing on customer-centric operations.
Education and Experience Information:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or related, equivalent experience. Juris Doctor or MBA preferred.
- Experience:
- 1+ years of prior supervisory experience, preferably in a legal billing or claims environment.
- 5+ years in the legal industry with 3+ years as an attorney, paralegal, legal spend analyst, legal bill auditor, legal bill reviewer, or billing coordinator for law firms.
- Ability to obtain and deliver information efficiently, both orally and in written form.
- Familiarity with e-billing systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to review, analyze, and evaluate legal fee and cost and expense invoice entries.
- Understanding of legal terminology and claims legal situations, with multijurisdictional exposure preferred.
- Leadership skills to motivate and inspire team members.
- Prior experience training staff, preferably in a legal setting.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and electronic legal bill submission and auditing software.
- Strong command of the English language, including grammar, syntax, and style.
- Excellent organizational skills and familiarity with common business math.
Salary Information:
- Target salary range for CA, CT, CO, DC, HI, IL, MD, MN, NY, RI, WA: $114,750 - $160,450.

- The position requires the ability to travel domestically in the US independently and the ability to obtain a Citi Corporate Credit Card for company expenses.
