Job Responsibilities:
The Manager of Unclaimed Property is responsible for overseeing unclaimed property matters, which includes conducting reviews of voluntary disclosures submitted by companies. This entails engaging with clients, unclaimed property administrators, adversarial parties, and opposing attorneys and accountants to ensure efficient and effective unclaimed property reviews and negotiate resolutions. The Manager also plays a crucial role in growing, training, managing, and developing a broader team of unclaimed property professionals. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with project management for complex unclaimed property matters by managing tasks and deadlines.
- Analyzing and reconciling accounting records and deliverables.
- Investigating transactions and history to determine if selected transactions represent unclaimed property.
- Preparing calculations of unclaimed property liability and associated statistical sampling.
- Delegating tasks and providing effective feedback to team members.
- Supporting the delivery of effective client and adverse party presentations.
- Preparing professional client-ready reports.
- Researching company financial information and unclaimed property issues.
- Reviewing unclaimed property reports filed with states.
- Applying unclaimed property law and regulations to company facts and accounting transactions.
- Investigating entity corporate structures and histories.
- Drafting responses to inquiries and requests from opposing parties.
- Training, mentoring, and developing team members at various levels.

Education and Experience Information:

- A minimum of 5 years of accounting/audit experience, with at least 3 years focused on unclaimed property experience.
