Complex Bankruptcy Litigation Paralegal The candidate will prepare various motions for relief, fee applications, proofs of claim, and from time to time, petitions, schedules, and financial statements. Must be a highly organized, detail-oriented person to serve as a bankruptcy paralegal with experience in business bankruptcy and complex litigation matters; highly organized; familiar with the e-filing system of CM/ECF; able to acclimate to the handling of cases in various jurisdictions throughout the United States and overseas; able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must have a Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required with 5 years of relevant experience, performing duties as indicated; excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of Best Case Software; extensive knowledge of Bankruptcy and Federal law; ECF Pacer training and experience with filing via ECF; any experience in California law would be helpful; excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be the ability to handle large volumes of work associated with each matter, case, or transaction, and will work well under tight and shifting deadlines; experience in representing Chapter 7 trustees, creditors, investors, distressed debt lenders, and committees is preferred; a passion for helping people; accuracy and attention to detail are a must; multi-task, must be organized and needs to be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Should be proficient in calendaring events, filing documents with the court (including ECF filing), drafting, discovering, and managing physical and electronic records.
