Job Title: Lateral Intake Coordinator (Hybrid)
Job Responsibilities:
The Lateral Intake Coordinator is responsible for assisting lateral partners in efficiently opening their portable work. This role involves collaborating with lateral partners and various departments within the law firm to ensure that incoming lateral partners' clients are cleared, opened, and organized correctly. Specific duties include:
- Inputting key data into Intapp Intake’s request form to open clients and matters for lateral attorneys, identifying areas where data may get stuck, and problem-solving to advance the process.
- Preparing draft engagement letters for incoming lateral partners using the portable matters chart provided by the Lateral Conflicts team, reviewing drafts with the lateral partner, and following up on missing data to expedite client openings.
- Assisting with data intake to ensure that various workflow steps are advancing, including following the matter-opening process and coordinating with the Information Governance team for data movement to appropriate workspaces/access.
- Updating client statuses in Integration Plans while opening clients and sending out engagement letters.
- Ensuring a smooth hand-off to the assigned Practice Assistant for ongoing support after portable clients have been successfully opened.
- Regularly interfacing and communicating with the lateral partner, Conflicts Team, Business Intake team, Client Contracts team, Lateral Conflicts team, Information Governance team, and Lateral Integration team.
- Tracking, analyzing, and providing status updates related to opening new clients/matters and organizing data.
- Undertaking special projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- A strong understanding of client intake processes and data management is essential.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage.
Salary Information:
This position may be filled in Illinois, District of Columbia, Washington, New York, Colorado, or California. The base salary ranges for this position are listed below. These ranges may not be applicable to other locations. Actual compensation will depend on individual qualifications and experience. In addition to base compensation, the law firm provides bonus opportunities and an exceptional benefits package.
