Job Responsibilities:
The Labor & Employment Senior Level Associates / Counsel at the law firm in Palo Alto are expected to have expertise across labor and employment law. The primary responsibilities include advising clients on a wide range of . and international transactions, managing the hiring and termination of executive and management-level employees, and overseeing broad-based reductions in force. They will also handle the drafting and negotiation of various employment documents such as offer letters, wage theft notices, background checks, and employment, separation, and transition agreements. The role requires dealing with noncompetition and other restrictive covenants, responding to employment-related demand letters, and negotiating settlement agreements. Internal investigations, especially those involving sensitive matters like harassment, discrimination, retaliation, whistleblowing, employee theft, and drug abuse, are also part of the job. The position involves the creation and revision of employee handbooks and employment-related policies and procedures, as well as interactions with labor unions and the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements. The role also includes working on high-profile matters such as Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter, Activision Blizzard's acquisition by Microsoft, and employment counseling for Bytedance, the parent company of TikTok.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be from the classes of 2016 and above for the Counsel role and 2014-2019 for the Senior Associate role. The law firm seeks outstanding lateral candidates with substantial expertise in labor and employment law. Experience in handling . and international transactions, executive employment matters, and internal investigations is highly valued.

Salary Information:
The starting base salary for the position in Palo Alto is expected to be between $420,000 to $465,000 annually. The actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
