Description
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving digital transformation at the law firm. This position provides technical leadership in the design, development, testing, and implementation of cloud solutions. The engineer is expected to manage and document current systems, identify gaps, and resolve them in the cloud. A strong understanding of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, along with the ability to customize them for enhanced security and efficiency, is crucial. The role involves creating documentation for administrative processes, detailing the management of the infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain operating system backup solutions for system recovery and disaster recovery.
- Document and diagram implementations to ensure adherence to best practices and plans.
- Train administrators and service desk personnel to support products.
- Participate in setting long-term direction, roadmaps, and standards for technical solutions, ensuring alignment with overall enterprise architecture.
- Recommend cloud-based solutions that benefit employees, reduce complexity, enhance security, and decrease failures.
- Identify single points of failure and areas lacking resiliency.
- Engage in technology evaluation and reengineering teams to support strategy-definition and continuous process improvement activities.
- Lead projects to completion.
- Provide updates on workload and projects to management.
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Stay updated on new and current technologies.
- Create lifecycle plans for responsible products.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain automation of cloud enablement tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: 5 – 10 years in roles as an on-prem engineer, network engineer, or on a DevOps team as a cloud engineer.
Other:
- Fundamental knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including operating systems, security, networking, backup and restores, and disaster recovery testing.
- Experience in a lift and shift migration.
- Current certifications in Cloud, Cyber Security, or networking technologies.
- Deep knowledge in Public vs. Private vs. Hybrid Solution Development.
- Familiarity with cloud migration methodologies and processes, including tools used.
- Executive presentation experience with business acumen.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to design and plan the implementation of solutions.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Ability to script in one or more languages, ideally PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Experience with enabling Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Experience with MFA, OTP, or 2SV.
Physical Demands and/or Work Environment:
The role requires frequent use of a keyboard, calculator, and telephone. The employee must frequently sit, walk, talk, and hear, and occasionally stand, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift up to 20 lbs. The employee must be able to adjust vision for close work.
