Law Firm Hiring: Records Manager in Boston with Competitive Salary
The law firm of Wolf Greenfield is seeking a highly qualified Records Manager to join our team in Boston. This is a pivotal role that plays a significant part in enhancing and developing record management processes to support our broader organizational goals. We offer a competitive salary range of $102,000 - $134,600 annually, based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Formulate and implement strategic initiatives to optimize record management practices, enhance security, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Oversee daily operations of the Records Management Program (RMP) and activities associated with controlling records throughout their life cycle
- Serve as a liaison to the General Counsel department and ensure legal requirements are included in the matter management process
- Assist in organizing and storing legal documents related to each matter
- Maintain a comprehensive digital record of all active and closed matters
- Implement and manage a secure digital records system for easy access to authorized personnel
- Update and enforce records retention policies to comply with legal, regulatory, client, and organizational requirements
- Continuously evaluate and improve digital records management processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Provide training and ongoing support on matter management tools and digital records systems
- Collaborate with the Information Technology team to troubleshoot issues and implement new features or integrations
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of matter management processes, system configurations, and user guides
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years of work experience in records management or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Direct experience with electronic data retention program implementation and developing procedures
- Thorough understanding of records and information management principles, concepts, practices, and standards
- Ability to solve complex problems and apply appropriate solutions
- Knowledge of records management software
- Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, with basic computer and database management skills
- Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to recognize anomalies and respond appropriately
- Strong time management, prioritization, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with different levels of constituencies
- Flexibility and ability to work in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of matters and firm business information
