IT Portfolio Analyst
Job Responsibilities
The IT Portfolio Analyst is responsible for performing analysis activities to support decision-making regarding the alignment of technology solutions with business, user, and functional needs. This position requires conducting market research, functional comparisons, and keeping up with industry standards, particularly in other law firms and professional services firms. The analyst will gather requirements, document procedures, and review current processes. They will collaborate with business stakeholders and the IT Portfolio Manager to prioritize and create a project roadmap, specifically in the area of Human Capital Management, which includes Core Human Resources, Recruiting, and Performance Management. The analyst will maintain institutional knowledge of what is working well or needs improvement in collaboration with business and IT teams.
Key duties include:
- Partnering with business stakeholders to understand and prioritize their needs.
- Analyzing and consolidating various project perspectives, including business needs, user experience, security, training, risk, time, cost, technology architecture, and procurement/vendor management.
- Managing the lifecycle of assigned products from inception to implementation, through production, until retirement or upgrade.
- Gathering business requirements from project stakeholders to define goals and objectives.
- Driving projects and business teams toward achieving intended business results within a specified time and budget.
- Staying informed of best practices at other firms and applicable technology developments.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to influence the firm's technology decisions.
- Seeking user experience input and documenting current procedures to determine potential improvements.
- Performing risk analyses and testing activities to identify and resolve critical path issues.
- Preparing, analyzing, and validating program/project-related data.
- Reviewing and reporting on program/project status.
- Preparing materials for briefings and presentations to executive-level decision-makers.
- Undertaking other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information

**Required Education and Experience:**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with MS Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
**Preferred Education and Experience:**
- Experience with HR Technology applications (such as Workday or similar) or related business areas.
- Experience with database administration or relational databases and tables.
- Experience in creating and maintaining Functional and Technical Specification documents, wireframe mockups/diagrams, test cases/plans, and defect/bug fix management.
- Experience in current HR and overall technology trends.
- Knowledge of Jira, Service Now, and Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience in a law firm setting.

Salary Information
Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. The estimated salary range for this role, if located in Illinois, is $85,000 - $90,000. The compensation package also includes bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits program.
