Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Legal Research and Documentation:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research focused on foreclosure laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Assist attorneys in drafting and preparing key legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
- Review and analyze foreclosure documents, contracts, and financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, ensuring all necessary documents are properly filed and organized.
- Case Management and Support:
- Collaborate with attorneys to effectively manage a high volume of foreclosure, eviction, and collections cases from start to completion.
- Coordinate with clerks, judges’ offices, opposing counsel, and in-house attorneys to schedule hearings, trials, mediations, and other necessary appearances.
- Facilitate case progression by coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- Prepare and distribute legal correspondence, notices, and other communications as required.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for court appearances, hearings, and trials by organizing evidence, exhibits, and other case materials.
- Maintain and update case management systems to track deadlines, court dates, and case developments.
- Client Relations:
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, providing updates on case status and addressing inquiries.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary documentation and information for foreclosure proceedings.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of client information throughout the case process.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices related to creditors' rights and foreclosure.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with all applicable legal and ethical standards.
- Conduct internal audits to verify the accuracy and completeness of case files and documentation.
Education and Experience Information:
- A is required.
- Previous experience as a paralegal, preferably in the area of creditors' rights, is essential.
- Proficiency in conducting legal research using various resources and platforms is necessary.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and case management is critical.
- Proficiency in using legal software and case management systems is required.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment is essential.
- Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information professionally is mandatory.
