Job Title: Consultant - Health Care System Analytics
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct analyses focused on Medicaid (TAF) and Medicare claims data to support policy, health system, and life sciences business and research queries.
- Identify suitable methods and datasets for investigating policy, business, and research questions, keeping scope, time, and budget in mind.
- Define analytical questions, interpret results, and translate findings into client-facing deliverables.
- Conduct basic statistical analyses, including regression models, using SAS and Excel-based modeling.
- Write and review SAS / SQL code to analyze large-scale datasets.
- Support data and analytic quality assurance practices.
- Communicate complex data analysis methods and results in lay terms to diverse audiences through compelling visualizations.
- Manage data acquisition and data use agreements as needed.
- Support client teams in data-driven problem-solving and strategy development, acting as a detail-oriented team player to develop and deliver reliable client products.
- Apply critical thinking, communication, and project management skills to complex healthcare issues across various projects.
- Develop and deliver organized, substantive, and visually compelling presentations for a variety of audiences, including at the executive level.
- Contribute significantly to project work streams from start through execution, managing project work plans, milestones, due dates, client communications, and deliverables.
Education and Experience Information:
- Master’s degree in public policy, health economics, applied economics, public health, business administration, biostatistics, or a related field.
- Experience working with Medicaid or Medicare claims data is required; experience within the CMS Virtual Research Data Center (VRDC) is desired but not required.
- At least two years of experience programming in SAS / SQL to analyze comprehensive Medicaid or Medicare claims datasets, preferably within a consulting firm, government agency, research firm or think tank, health system, or health plan.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to fast-paced deliverables and communicate insights effectively through written and visual materials.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Background in American healthcare policy is desired, with a Medicaid policy background highly desired.
- Collaborative mindset and adaptability across project types and teams.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Outstanding problem-solving, organizational, communication, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience managing data use agreements or supporting project workflows is preferred.
- Relevant internships and/or lived experience with a demonstrated interest in business strategy, health equity, and healthcare trends is preferred.
Salary Information:
- Compensation is based on years of relevant experience and advanced degrees, ranging from $130,000 to $170,000.
