Job Title: Legal Secretary, North American Transactional Group
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to attorneys as required.
- Prepare attorneys' correspondence and other legal documents upon request.
- Draft information on behalf of the timekeeper with minimal direction.
- Manage attorneys' calendars efficiently.
- Schedule and organize complex activities, including meetings, travel, and seminars.
- Update and proofread visual presentations.
- Organize and prioritize large volumes of email and phone calls.
- Respond to regularly occurring requests for information.
- Type general correspondences, memos, charts, tables, graphs, and business plans.
- Proofread copy for spelling and grammar, making appropriate changes.
- Volunteer to assist others in practice groups and the office, fostering a team environment.
- Share information and expertise readily with staff members at all levels.
Education and Experience Information:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; secretarial Degree preferred.
- Significant legal secretarial experience; work experience in a legal or professional services environment.
- Minimum of intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate knowledge of office systems (., Intapp Time, Intapp Open).
- Capable of completing fine hand manipulation (heavy typing, dialing, filing); able to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of marketing resources and relevant materials.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Actively pursues opportunities for self-development and collaboration.
- Understands the law firm structure and available resources.
- Looks for ways to improve processes and procedures.
- Some analytical ability is required to solve various administrative problems and prioritize workload.
Salary Information:
This position is bonus-eligible and includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits based on the number of hours worked. The US base compensation for this position is expected to be $95,000 to $102,000 annually if located in an office in the state of New York. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
