Communications Manager - **Members Only** - Full-Time - Cincinnati, OH, US
**Members Only**, a national law firm with 18 offices and over 1000 legal and business professionals, is seeking a full-time Communications Manager to join their Marketing Department. This role is responsible for developing and managing the firm's messaging and communications strategy, both internally and externally, to support the firm's reputation and growth objectives. The ideal candidate will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, experience in a public relations or communications role, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans to engage with target audience and promote the firm's initiatives
- Manage relationships with media outlets and pitch story ideas to increase firm awareness
- Lead response and communication during potential crises or complex situations
- Collaborate with colleagues to submit for legal directories, publications, and other rankings and awards
- Oversee internal communications processes and resources for targeted messaging
- Plan and execute marketing campaigns, leveraging existing content and identifying new opportunities
- Provide public relations services such as media talking points, press releases, and press conference coordination
- Write, edit, and proofread various marketing and communications materials
- Manage the firm's Copywriter and maintain writing style guides
- Oversee the Internal Communications Specialist and ensure alignment between internal and external communications
- Manage relationships with outside PR vendors and determine best use of external resources
- Stay updated on digital technologies and incorporate them into communications efforts
- Collaborate with other departments to utilize the firm's intranet system and assist with change management
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, or communications
- Minimum six years' experience in a public relations or communications role
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred
- Experience managing and mentoring team members
- Strong experience with digital content and social media platforms
- Familiarity with CRM, Foundation, and PR tools preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and critical thinking abilities
- Willingness to work flexible hours and take on various assignments
