Legal Administrative Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
The Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive support to attorneys and paralegals, ensuring over-the-top service and optimal results for clients. This role involves multitasking in a fast-paced environment and utilizing proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant technologies to enhance skills through continuous learning. Key responsibilities include:
- Administrative tasks such as time entry, managing expense reports and check requests for USCIS filings, printing, calendaring, scanning, handling mailings, maintaining and organizing electronic files, coordinating travel arrangements, and collaborating with the accounting team to pay invoices for ancillary support services.
- Legal-specific tasks including dictation/transcription, document revisions, document conversions, redlining, and docketing.
- Higher-level tasks such as document drafting, assisting with closings, preparing virtual closing books, court filings, scheduling hearings, monitoring USCIS guidelines for petition-specific mailing addresses and filing fees, obtaining records from . Customs & Border Protection, using ShareFile & DocuSign to request files from clients and send documents for signature, and ordering and coordinating translations and academic evaluations of client documents.
Education and Experience Information:
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Two (2) years of experience as a legal assistant or administrative assistant.
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer/software technologies.
