Job Title: Litigation Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
- Download digital files and save them in the appropriate client matter folders within the document management system (NetDocs) and network drives.
- Coordinate e-filing in both state and federal courts, which includes gathering exhibits, contacting courts for rules, and preparing the Table of Contents and Table of Authorities for briefs.
- Prepare legal documents by formatting, proofreading, making revisions, and finalizing them.
- Save documents in the document management system (NetDocs).
- Assist with preparing expense reports for attorneys.
- Collaborate with legal assistants across various offices such as Dallas, Denver, San Diego, San Francisco, and Los Angeles to support attorneys throughout the law firm.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- A minimum of an Associate of Arts (AA) degree is required, with a Bachelor’s degree being desirable.
- Four to six years of recent litigation legal assistant experience is necessary.
- Previous experience working in a law firm is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
- Ability to initially work in the office Monday through Friday and later transition to a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote.
- Experience with e-filing in both state and federal courts.
- Strong technology skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments under time pressure.
- Ability to take initiative and follow through on projects.
- Ability to perform at high levels and successfully adapt to changing priorities and working demands.
Salary Information:
- The anticipated salary range for this position is based on a 35-hour per week schedule and experience.
- The hourly rate will be between $40-$42, commensurate with experience.
- There is potential for annual performance-based raises and discretionary bonuses.
Additional Information:
- Initially, the new hire will be required to work in the office from Monday through Friday. Once the tasks and responsibilities are learned, a hybrid schedule will be possible, consisting of three days in the office and two days remote.
