The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (HHSC) is currently seeking a highly skilled Legal Secretary III to join our team. This position will be responsible for providing senior-level legal secretarial support to the Regional Legal Services Department, working closely with multiple attorneys on regional and guardianship matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in legal secretarial work and a strong understanding of legal practices and terminology. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary range of $3, - $5,.

Essential Job Functions:

- Prepare and proofread legal and administrative documents, including correspondence, pleadings, and discovery documents.
- Assist in organizing and compiling hearing materials, including exhibits, trial notebooks, and affidavits.
- Develop and maintain record-keeping and filing systems, both electronically and manually.
- File and e-file documents with the court clerk's office.
- Gather and compile materials for various projects for attorneys.
- Answer phone calls, review and process mail, and maintain calendars.
- Prepare standard forms, letters, and pleadings in response to requests from attorneys, agencies, and the public.
- Arrange meetings, interviews, and hearings.
- Review and assign mail for legal staff, maintain calendars and room reservations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Strong understanding of legal practices and terminology.
- Ability to interpret policies, rules, regulations, and laws.
- Excellent multitasking skills and ability to track multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and office equipment.
- Ability to create and maintain record-keeping and filing systems.

Requirements:

- Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in legal secretarial work.
- Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
