Summary:
Law Firm is seeking a Paralegal with experience in Probate and Trust Administration to join our Grand Rapids office. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or an Associate's degree in Legal Studies or Paralegal Studies, along with at least 3 years of experience in probate and trust administration. They should also have advanced knowledge of probate court rules and procedures, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF creation. The Paralegal will be responsible for estate and trust administration, communicating with clients and other parties involved, managing case files, and preparing legal documents.
Responsibilities:
- Estate and trust administration, including drafting probate court pleadings and preparing required documents
- Direct communication with clients, accountants, and other parties to assist with post-death administration
- Supervising docket and managing case files
- Collaborating with attorneys on administration issues and preparing real estate documents
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or Associate's degree in Legal Studies or Paralegal studies, or certification from an accredited paralegal program
- Knowledge of general accounting and bookkeeping principles preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in probate and trust administration, including prior experience in general litigation and/or probate litigation
- Advanced knowledge of probate court rules and procedures, laws, and regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF creation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional client service skills, discretion, and judgment
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and able to work collaboratively
- Creative problem-solving skills
