Job Responsibilities:
The Immigration Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for the preparation of a wide array of business-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications for corporate and individual clients. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing nonimmigrant petitions such as H-1B, L-1, TN, E, and O-1, as well as immigrant petitions including both employment and family-based applications, which involves form preparation and assembling supporting documentation.
- Managing high-volume corporate client accounts, working closely with clients to provide comprehensive immigration services.
- Compiling and maintaining records of immigration filings, other documentation, and records of activity on behalf of clients.
- Reviewing immigration regulations and applying them to various case scenarios.
- Conducting research using available immigration research tools, including government agencies' websites.
- Writing detailed and complex supporting argumentation for visa applications.
- Entering case information into the case management system.
Education and Experience Information:
- Legal experience is required, with paralegal experience preferred.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a field emphasizing writing or communication is required.
- Experience in business and family-based immigration is preferred but not required.
- Superior writing and editing skills for complex support letters, along with strong written and oral communication skills, are essential. Applicants are requested to submit a writing sample with their job application.
- Experience with MS Office and expertise with computer-assisted legal resources is necessary.
- The ability to manage multiple high-volume priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional, cooperative, positive, and flexible attitude is important.
