Job Title: Sr. Director, Business Development – Transactional

Job Responsibilities:

The Sr. Director, Business Development – Transactional at the law firm is a senior leadership role focused on driving revenue growth and supporting marketing initiatives within the Transactional practices, which include Tax and Real Estate. The role involves overseeing the domestic Transaction Business Development team and collaborating with various departments to enhance the firm's visibility and business development efforts. Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with Practice Group Leaders and the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer to set priorities and plans for transactional practices.
- Leading the development, execution, and review of strategies and initiatives for relevant practices and lawyers.
- Driving revenue generation initiatives such as client targeting, market research, responses to RFPs, and client relationship reviews.
- Partnering with the Sr. Director of Business Development, Litigation, and senior international business development leads on cross-practice and cross-border opportunities.
- Working with communications, brand, and award teams to develop strategic visibility initiatives and build brand awareness.
- Providing coaching and guidance to senior lawyers on visibility and business development initiatives.
- Leading strategic efforts related to key transactional clients, including setting direction, infrastructure, KPIs, and metrics.
- Building, managing, and leading a highly effective team of marketing and business development professionals across the .
- Collaborating with Practice Managers to drive broader practice initiatives through a marketing and business development lens.
- Working with the Market Intelligence Team and Knowledge Management to improve matter collection and streamline business development knowledge processes.
- Partnering with the Marketing & Business Development leadership team to enhance efficiency, collaboration, communication, and visibility across the department and with lawyers.

Education and Experience Information:

- A minimum of 15 years of professional services marketing and business development experience, preferably in a sophisticated and matrixed organization.
- Significant management experience is required, with a demonstrated record of team building and transformational project management.
- High-level relationship management experience is highly valued.

- Strong business acumen with the ability to develop short- and long-term business development and strategic marketing plans.
- A strong background in business development and marketing technology, tools, processes, and innovation to drive revenue and efficiency.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build consensus, and create excitement and support for initiatives.
- A team-first approach with a proven track record of managing and mentoring a large, geographically diverse team.

Salary Information:

The annual compensation range for the Sr. Director, Business Development – Transactional position is $360,000 to $375,000. The salary offered within this range will depend on qualifications and other operational considerations. Benefits offered for this position include health care, retirement benefits, paid days off (including sick time and vacation time), parental leave, basic life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, and discretionary, performance-based bonuses.
