Job Title: Legal Assistant - Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
Legal Assistants at the law firm play a crucial role in supporting the mission and goals of the firm by providing essential administrative and other support to attorneys. The responsibilities of the Legal Assistant include:
- Conducting legal and social science research, drafting research memoranda, and preparing court documents and correspondence.
- Proofreading and checking citations for complex legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Performing regular administrative tasks, such as coordinating meetings and travel arrangements, filing and maintaining records, scanning, copying, and preparing expense reports.
- Being proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Reading, analyzing, interpreting, and summarizing legal and social science documents, including case law and statutes.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant is necessary.
- The candidate should possess strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven research abilities are essential for the role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
- The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
