Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, or appeals for use by attorneys.
- Draft routine legal documents for review and use by attorneys.
- Compile and prepare draft discovery responses.
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes.
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices.
- Categorize and interpret data; review and analyze reports, responses, and records produced by opposing counsel.
- Coordinate requests between multiple parties involved in litigation through consistent communication with clients, claims, and full partnership with attorneys through the end of the case.
- Assist attorneys in depositions, witness preparation, and research.
- Prepare and handle all exhibits and act as an assistant to the attorney during court proceedings.
- Responsible for closing out case documents once the trial is over.
Education and Experience Information:
- High attention to detail.
- Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc.
- Excellent legal writing and oral communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
- Extensive computer and database expertise.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Associate’s degree required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- ABA-approved paralegal certification with a focus on litigation.
Salary Information:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: $56, - $78, per year
