Job Title: California Business Development Coordinator
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Business Development – West Coast & Technology Industry Group and other firmwide BD Managers to assist in the development and execution of strategic plans for the California Initiative and the Technology Industry Group.
- Support the planning, execution, and follow-up of firm events, such as seminars, webinars, CLE programs, and social events. Responsibilities include organizing logistics, preparing invitations and handout materials, monitoring RSVPs and attendee lists, and preparing post-event reports. Provide onsite support for firm events as needed.
- Provide business development support to select practices and industry groups, specifically the Technology Industry Group and the Technology Transactions Practice Group.
- Assist with the preparation of pitches and RFP requests, including assembling draft documents, attorney biographies, and proofreading.
- Record client development activities, efforts, and results in a department-wide tracking database, and support the team in various business development tracking and reporting requests.
- Offer support for CLE programs, including assistance with presentation materials and coordinating arrangements for CLE credits and certificates with the firm's Compliance Team.
- Coordinate the production and distribution of internal and external practice and industry group communications and content, including client alerts, event invitation lists and invitations, and marketing collateral such as brochures.
- Conduct basic market research and collaborate with the firm’s Marketing Research Team for more complex requests to compile information for client targeting, client events, meetings, and other projects.
- Coordinate sponsorships, related ads, and deliverables.
- Schedule and coordinate regular internal practice and industry group meetings, agendas, and follow-up action items.
- Manage invoice and expense reimbursement for business development-related expenses.
- Assist with additional firm-wide Marketing and Business Development Department projects and responsibilities as needed.
- Ensure timely and regular attendance, with a willingness to work overtime when required.
- Maintain high standards of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity, particularly regarding all sensitive and/or confidential firm and client information accessed in this position.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in business, marketing, or communications.
- Candidates must exhibit strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization, with the ability to work in a thorough, diligent, and proactive manner.
- Strong time and project management skills are essential, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work within tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- The role demands strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization.
- Highly motivated individuals with demonstrated creativity, initiative, and ability to work collaboratively are preferred.
- Experience with technology and software for marketing, including the MS Office Suite (., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook), is necessary.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for this position is $61,000 - $93,000, dependent on experience.
- Candidates hired for staff positions with a minimum work schedule of 30 hours per week are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare insurance.
