Job Title: Assistant Director, Business Development (Transactional)

Job Responsibilities:

The Assistant Director, Business Development (Transactional) is responsible for initiating, designing, and executing business development strategies for assigned core Transactional practice(s) at the law firm. Key responsibilities include:

- Collaborating with Practice Group Leaders and the Business Development Director, Transactional (BDDT) to establish business development priorities and plans.
- Leading the development, execution, and review of strategies and initiatives for relevant practices and lawyers.
- Driving revenue generation initiatives such as client targeting, sales pipeline processes, sector initiatives, and key account initiatives.
- Working with colleagues across various Business Development teams on cross-practice and cross-border opportunities.
- Building and managing a team of business development professionals supporting the assigned practices.
- Partnering with the Business Development & Marketing (BDM) leadership team to enhance efficiency, collaboration, and communication.
- Collaborating with BDM functions to achieve business development, communications, and marketing goals.
- Providing guidance to BDM team members responsible for marketing projects to ensure high-quality work products.
- Offering coaching and guidance to senior lawyers on business development initiatives.
- Collaborating with practice group managers to advance broader practice initiatives.
- Ensuring marketing and communication strategies align with business development goals.
- Maintaining an understanding of law firm market trends, competitor activities, and client behaviors.
- Establishing and managing key performance indicators to monitor progress and measure results.
- Recommending and executing department strategies related to policy, culture, and strategic initiatives.
- Applying best practices to support enhanced communications and policies.
- Leading strategic projects that add value and efficiencies to department work.
- Engaging in strategic planning by developing departmental goals and supporting objectives.
- Coordinating and overseeing department projects, operations, and long-range plans.
- Ensuring timely responses to requests for departmental services.
- Forecasting financial and budget requirements for the department and monitoring the budget.
- Overseeing employees' work performance and utilizing the firm's performance management process.
- Participating in the interviewing, selection, and training process.
- Initiating disciplinary procedures in collaboration with the Human Resources Department.
- Demonstrating effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Performing other projects as directed.

Education and Experience:

- A Bachelor's degree is required, with a JD/MBA degree preferred.
- Candidates should currently hold a Senior or Global Manager position for at least two years.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional services marketing/business development role is required, with law firm experience preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of management experience is necessary.
- The role involves managing or directly coordinating and evaluating the work of ten or more people and/or functions with global reach.

Salary Information:

The starting base salary for the Assistant Director, Business Development (Transactional) position is expected to be within the range of $250,000 - $300,000. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
