Job Title: Paralegal - Trusts and Estates
Job Responsibilities:
The Paralegal - Trusts and Estates position at the law firm involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the administration of estates and trusts. The successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:
- Identifying estate assets and performing probate functions.
- Independently administering estates, ensuring all necessary legal and financial processes are adhered to.
- Maintaining accurate financial records that are essential for the preparation of tax returns and fiduciary accountings.
- Assisting in the preparation, review, and filing of income tax, inheritance, and estate tax returns.
- Preparing fiduciary accountings for estates and trusts, which includes creating Receipt and Release Agreements, Schedules of Distribution, and other related documentation necessary for the informal settlement of estates and trusts.
Education and Experience Information:
To be considered for the Paralegal - Trusts and Estates role, candidates should have:
- Prior experience in the administration of estates, demonstrating an ability to handle complex financial matters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with Lackner software and CCH ProSystem fx Tax software.
- Experience with corporate and real estate matters, as well as the preparation of income tax returns for individuals, estates, and trusts, is considered advantageous.
Candidates must also possess excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to client service, as the role involves regular interaction with clients and colleagues.
Salary Information:
The salary for the Paralegal - Trusts and Estates position is commensurate with experience, ranging from $65,000 to $90,000 per year. This is a full-time hourly position.
