The Intellectual Property group at Faegre Drinker is seeking a Patent Agent with a background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field. This position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and be involved in all aspects of patent preparation and prosecution. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications on related technologies, with a preference for those with experience in AI and machine learning patents. Admission to practice before the USPTO is required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting and prosecuting patent applications on electrical, software, or computer science technologies
- Conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and analyses
- Collaborating with clients and attorneys to develop patent strategies
- Assisting in patent litigation and post-grant proceedings
- Keeping up-to-date with developments in patent law and technology
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Admission to practice before the USPTO
- Two or more years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications on related technologies
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent academic credentials
Compensation and Benefits:
- Anticipated initial annual salary range of $110,000 - $180,000
- Additional compensation and benefits package for attorneys, including bonuses, insurance, and a 401(k) plan
- Actual salary will be based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors
- Flexible return-to-work policy with an average of 2-3 days in the office
