The law firm of Cooley is currently seeking a highly qualified Cyber/Data/Privacy Attorney with 4-6 years of experience to join their team in either New York, San Francisco, Chicago, or Washington, DC. This position will focus on litigation and/or regulatory enforcement investigations related to privacy and data security matters. Cooley's c/d/p practice group is made up of over 30 full-time attorneys across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia, and is consistently recognized for its excellence in this area of law.
Responsibilities for this role include handling regulatory investigations and litigation involving consumer protection issues, such as those brought by State Attorneys General, the FTC, and other regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will also have experience defending data privacy and security class actions, including those related to the Stored Communications Act and wiretapping claims. Additionally, familiarity with claims involving unfair and deceptive trade practices and data breach class actions is preferred.
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a high level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school, the ability to work directly with clients and lead significant projects, and strong analytical and writing skills. General tech fluency is also desired.
The expected annual pay range for this position is $310,000 - $390,000, depending on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
