Job Title: IP Trademark Docketing Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The IP Trademark Docketing Specialist at the law firm is responsible for supporting attorneys and clients with trademark prosecution activities. This includes accurately reviewing correspondence, entering case details and due dates into the firm’s docketing database, and partnering with the IP Docketing Manager to manage a large trademark portfolio using internal and external resources. The role involves a variety of tasks that adhere to firm procedures and risk management guidelines. Key responsibilities include:

- Analyzing, reviewing, and processing all trademark correspondence, both domestic and foreign, including communications from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
- Docketing USPTO and foreign trademark mail in the docketing system.
- Modifying, adding, and maintaining docket records, and de-docketing pertinent deadlines.
- Opening new matters and creating, modifying, and generating docket and status reports.
- Processing incoming file transfers and generating daily docket of deadlines to ensure compliance.
- Responding to requests from legal staff and other departments.
- Ensuring accurate entry and date calculation for case information and verifying daily PTO submissions.
- Communicating with attorneys and staff regarding pending action items, including appropriate follow-up.
- Handling special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the IP Trademark Docketing Specialist position should have 2-4 years of trademark docketing experience, preferably with CPI. A working knowledge of trademark docketing procedures, including USPTO and foreign practices, is essential. The role requires advanced knowledge of the trademark docketing processes, typically acquired through training, education, and several years of work experience in the IP field. Additional qualifications include:

- Professional conduct, service-oriented attitude, and acute attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A Paralegal Certificate and/or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Salary Information:
The base salary for the IP Trademark Docketing Specialist position varies depending on the location and individual qualifications and experience. The salary ranges for specific locations are as follows:

- Washington: – per hour
- Illinois: – per hour

- New York City: – per hour
- New York State: – per hour
- Colorado: – per hour
- California: – per hour
