Job Title: Commercial Legal Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
As a Commercial Legal Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Completing complex legal tasks and providing legal support in all states where the law firm operates.
- Assisting in the preparation of files, as well as reviewing, drafting, filing, and serving legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Following, creating, and maintaining standard operating procedures.
- Demonstrating the law firm's core values in interactions with co-workers, attorneys, clients, courts, and consumers.
- Scanning, photocopying, collating, and faxing documents.
- Performing legal data entry.
- Handling client inquiries.
- Multitasking effectively and managing multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing deadlines and commitments.
- Communicating effectively and demonstrating strong customer service skills.
- Being a self-starter and motivated.
- Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Extracting information from the firm’s software to create reports or summaries for managing attorneys or the Director of the Department.
- Typing at a speed of 50+ words per minute.
- Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods of time.
- Bending, lifting, or carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- A legal field certificate or a 2-year degree is required, although experience may be substituted for education.
- A background in civil litigation is required, while a background in Creditors Rights Laws is preferred.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for this position is to per hour.
Travel:
- This position requires up to 0-5% travel, excluding local commute.
