Business Development & Marketing Director – Litigation
Job Responsibilities:
The Business Development & Marketing Director for Litigation is tasked with collaborating with practice group leaders to expand cross-selling initiatives and bring market initiatives to clients in a proactive manner. Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as a thought partner and project manager to set strategic goals and improve internal communications.
- Collaborating with lawyers and team members to monitor and package offerings in relation to legislative developments and market trends.
- Leading and developing a high-performing team to achieve strategic goals.
- Leveraging market intelligence to identify new targets and align with firm strategies.
- Designing effective go-to-market strategies in collaboration with marketing and communications teams.
- Utilizing CRM and other technologies to track pipelines and measure ROI.
- Creating connections between practice groups, sectors, and client teams.
- Working with the Pursuits & Directories team to create compelling content and pitch responses.
- Improving approach to directories and awards to enhance brand position.
- Collaborating with events colleagues to create strategic events.
- Managing annual budgets to support client and prospect initiatives.
- Developing strategic planning for the practice group.
- Contributing to department goals and overarching projects such as CRM, training, and onboarding.
- Collaborating with recruiting and integration colleagues to build best practices for talent integration.
- Assessing and enhancing marketing technology systems to drive client-centric targeting.
- Using AI to create efficiencies in work product.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
- Master's Degree
Minimum Years of Experience:
- 10+ years of Business Development experience, preferably in a leading litigation and/or investigations law firm.
Desired Skills:
- Extensive experience in driving cross-selling initiatives and client development.
- Strong understanding of litigation, particularly Business and Commercial Litigation, White Collar and Investigations, and Product Liability, Mass Torts, and Class Actions.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills to interact with senior executives and lawyers.
- Ability to develop rapport and gain respect within all levels of an organization.
- Strategic thinker and problem solver with proven ability to collaborate and build effective teams.
- Must demonstrate a growth mindset.
Salary Information:
The expected hiring range for this position is $229,360 - $353,889 per year, depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.
Additional Information:
This position can be located in any of the law firm's US offices and offers a hybrid work schedule. Employees are expected to embrace and uphold the firm's values and are committed to excellence in representing clients and developing people. The work environment may include a hybrid arrangement of remote and in-office work.
