Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

I. Document and Case Management

- Establish, organize and maintain case and client files
- Manage information manually and through the use of computerized databases
- Coordinate the gathering of information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence necessary to respond to discovery
- Analyze, organize, synthesize and summarize documents and materials from opposing parties
- Prepare subpoenas and Freedom of Information Requests
- Assist with summarizing depositions and other legal documents

II. Trial Support

- Prepare trial/hearing/arbitration/mediation materials
- Organize evidence and prepare exhibits

III. Editorial Support and Research Support

- Assist with drafting, proofreading, editing, and factual support for briefs and motions
- Draft correspondence, reports, and other written materials
- Summarize and analyze factual and statistical information
- Perform editorial and legal research
- Bluebook and cite check briefs and motions
- Conduct online legal and factual research

IV. Administrative

- Timely completion of time entry and other administrative responsibilities
- Attend firm meetings and continuing education programs/seminars

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; paralegal certificate preferred
- 4-7 years of experience, including understanding of FINRA
- Knowledge of legal and ethical principles, court rules and procedures, and rules of evidence
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands
- Proficient in MS Office and various legal software programs
