Overview

Foley & Lardner, a leading law firm, is seeking a Director of Paralegals to join their team. This role will be responsible for managing the firm's paraprofessional program across all three law departments - Business Law, Intellectual Property, and Litigation. The Director will play a crucial role in driving the firm's strategic direction and managing all aspects of the paraprofessional team, including recruiting, onboarding, training, and development, performance management, and compensation.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain a firmwide paraprofessional program across all three law departments, with a focus on providing excellent internal and external client support.
- Analyze and make recommendations for improvements to existing paraprofessional programs and staffing structures, implementing strategic and innovative approaches to process improvement.
- Develop hiring criteria and advancement frameworks, ensuring consistency across all law departments.
- Support the professional development of paraprofessionals through onboarding, integration, and ongoing training programs.
- Proactively address attorney and client support needs and create workflow coverage plans, monitoring utilization and realization of paraprofessionals and adjusting resources as needed.
- Collaborate with legal departments and accounting & finance on paraprofessional billing rates.
- Prepare and oversee budgeting for the paraprofessional program.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 10 years of legal and/or paraprofessional experience, with at least 5 years of managerial experience.
- Experience working with paraprofessionals in multiple practice areas preferred.

The actual offered amount will be determined based on factors such as education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley & Lardner.
