Litigation Assistant - Farah & Farah - Jacksonville, FL
Farah & Farah, a premier personal injury law firm in Southeast GA and throughout Florida, is seeking a Litigation Assistant to join our team in Jacksonville, FL. In this role, you will provide administrative support to the Attorney and Paralegal, conduct legal research, prepare documents for hearings, and schedule client meetings, depositions, and court dates. You will also be responsible for maintaining case files, drafting legal documents, and communicating case progress to clients. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Personal Injury and Litigation, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:

Organize and maintain case files in paper or electronic filing systems
Maintain pleading and discovery indexes
Maintain case costs and verify outstanding balances with attorney, clients, and providers
Act as a liaison among all parties for coordination and calendaring of meetings, appointments, mediations, hearings, and deadline dates
Draft legal documents and proofread for accuracy
Prepare case summaries and materials for mediations and team case reviews
Follow-up with providers for missing medical records, billings, liens, and PIP logs
Keep clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress
Facilitate the meeting of deadlines by keeping multiple agendas and providing timely reminders
Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties
Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Comply with company policies, procedures, and expectations

Qualifications:

2+ years of working experience in Personal Injury and Litigation
Knowledge of MS Office and legal technology and terminology
Familiarity with E-filing process, rules of evidence, and civil procedures
Working knowledge of case management software
Understanding of federal and state procedures
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and with attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Professional presentation and adherence to company dress code
