Role Overview: - The Sr. Manager, Labor & Employment Counsel will be the lead employment law counsel for the Americas region and will work with multiple businesses, functions, and regions to develop legal solutions for complex business issues. - This position reports to the VP, Labor & Employment Law, Americas, and will collaborate with legal, human resources, and business executives to identify and manage employment law risks. - The Sr. Manager will also manage employment litigation with external counsel. Key Responsibilities: - Provide employment law advice and counsel to HR and management on various subjects such as employee terminations, FMLA and other protected leaves, ADA reasonable accommodations, employee relations, wage and hour issues, separation agreements, workplace violence, and restrictive covenants. - Serve as a member of the Americas employment law team and lead projects to identify and proactively manage legal risks. - Manage US employment litigation with external counsel. - Support and counsel on internal investigations with the Employee Relations Center of Excellence. Requirements: - . degree - Licensed to practice law in one state, preferably CA, MA, PA, or NC - 5+ years of employment law experience - Prior experience managing employment litigation Qualifications: - 5+ years of employment law experience, including providing advice and counsel and managing employment litigation. - In-house counsel experience preferred, with experience in a global, complex, and highly matrixed company. - Prior law firm experience with employment litigation, including investigating and responding to administrative charges, responding to complaints, conducting discovery, taking depositions, drafting motions for summary judgment, and preparing for trial. - Proficient in providing advice and counsel in areas such as ADA reasonable accommodations, FMLA and other types of leaves, employee terminations, wage and hour, performance management, restrictive covenants, workplace investigations, and employee relations. - Strong influencing, relationship, and collaboration skills. - Ability to identify and manage legal and other risks and make sound judgments. - Strong analytical skills and ability to develop effective legal solutions for complex situations. - Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders. - Excellent writing and communication skills.
