Paralegal – Hospitality and Leisure (Chicago and Phoenix)

Dentons US LLP is currently seeking a full-time Paralegal to join our team in either our Chicago or Phoenix office. The successful candidate will work with our Hospitality & Leisure practice group and report to the Senior Practice Director. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced paralegal to join a top-ranked law firm and work on complex real estate transactions in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities:

- Assist in the preparation and review of real estate conveyance and closing documents.
- Perform and coordinate due diligence, including review of title commitments, surveys, zoning reports, and underlying documents.
- Coordinate the closing of successful real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.
- Prepare, review, and file UCC financing statements.
- Order and evaluate UCC, lien, litigation, and similar searches.
- Handle entity formation and maintenance, including related filings.
- Review and assemble officer’s certificates, resolutions, organizational documents, and other closing deliverables.
- Create and assemble closing books with detailed indices.
- Conduct routine fact and legal research, prepare reports, and handle associated filings.
- Interface with clients and other outside entities regarding assigned matters.
- Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Associates Degree required or Paralegal Certificate and equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of real estate experience required, preferably in a law firm setting, an in-house legal department, or a title company.
- Large and sophisticated transaction experience is preferred. Title and survey proficiency is required.
- Hospitality experience is a plus, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
- Superior client service and communication skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Ability to interact and work productively with all levels of lawyers, paraprofessionals, and business services team members.
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain discretion and privacy with confidential matters and documents.
- Ability to recognize and comprehend facts and legal concepts.
- Strong computer technical skills and demonstrated ability to learn new software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF creation tool(s), document management software, and Elite or other timekeeping software is required.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.

Salary Range: Chicago ($100K - $130K)
