Are you a tech-savvy individual with a passion for intellectual property and patent law? WilmerHale's IP Technology team is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technology Specialist to join their team in Boston, MA. With a focus on artificial intelligence, this role offers a wide range of responsibilities and opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with attorneys on a variety of tasks, including patent prosecution, client counseling, opinions, patent litigation, and IP transactional matters
- Collaborate with inventors and prepare patent applications and responses to patent office communications
- Conduct research on scientific journals and patent databases
- Assist with the preparation of foreign patent applications and communicate with foreign counsel
- Conduct analyses for patentability, validity, freedom to operate, and infringement opinions
- Review patent file histories and technical literature
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
- Adhere to ethical standards in all work

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science and PhD focused in artificial intelligence
- Experience with deep learning models, preferably including transformer architectures
- Willingness to attend an ABA accredited law school in the evening division (day programs considered on a case by case basis)
- Ability to obtain a law degree within four years and pass the USPTO patent bar exam to become a registered patent agent
- Eligibility to participate in WilmerHale's summer associate program after third year of law school
- Willingness to take state bar exam and become an associate at WilmerHale after law school
- Strong academic credentials and/or prior work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Prior patent law experience not required
- Registration to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office not required

Salary Information:
- Not in school: $130,000
- 1st year in school: $150,000
- 2nd year in school: $160,000
- 3rd year in school: $170,000
- 4th year in school: $215,000
