Law Firm Seeking Experienced Workers Compensation Legal Assistant in Jacksonville, FL About the Law Firm: - Farah & Farah is a premier personal injury law firm with a mission to deliver justice for our clients with relentless dedication and uncompromising support, professionalism, and compassion. - We value our employees and consider them part of our Farah family. Position Overview: - The Workers Compensation Legal Assistant will handle incoming calls and emails for the Workers Compensation Department, set up new patient charts, schedule appointments, obtain authorizations, and process outgoing claims. - This role also involves assisting patients, nurse case managers, adjusters, and physicians with any requests or needs related to workers compensation claim patients. Responsibilities: - Answering incoming calls and emails, providing information and scheduling appointments - Reviewing accounts and forms for accuracy - Sending documentation and orders to insurance carriers - Communicating with claims adjusters and interpreting local and out of state policies - Maintaining records and responding to inquiries from internal staff, patients, adjusters, and case managers - Obtaining authorizations for initial visits, surgeries, and physical therapy Qualifications: - Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines - Strong customer service, time management, and organizational skills - Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities - Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and in a team setting - Capacity to handle confidential information - Comfortable working on the phones for extended periods - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Experience with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook - Familiarity with company policies, state and federal regulations, and workflow processes - Proven experience in medical billing, medical office, or hospital environment - Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is a plus - Fluency in Spanish is a plus - High school diploma or equivalent Benefits: - Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Paid time off - 401K plan - Employer-paid short-term disability and basic life insurance Schedule: - Full-time, 8-hour shifts - Monday to Friday - Onsite office in a professional setting Equal Opportunity Statement: - Farah & Farah is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind based on race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
