Responsibilities As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a vital role in managing the day-to-day operations of our law firm. This includes administrative duties such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. You will also be responsible for maintaining pleadings and discovery indexes, organizing exhibits and documents, and implementing and improving administrative processes for a more efficient workflow. Other responsibilities include: - Collecting, examining, and organizing evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation - Drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents - Conducting research on regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice - Managing client billing and resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney - Communicating with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions - Managing and organizing documents in paper or electronic filing systems Qualifications - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required - Associates degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree is preferred - Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred - At least 2 years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department - Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury-related practice areas preferred - Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and handle a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision - Excellent written and communication skills - Proficient in calendar depositions, mediation, and hearings - Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc. - Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Strong writing and communication skills with attention to detail - Extensive computer and database expertise, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing at least 35 wpm Benefits At Morgan & Morgan, we value our employees and offer a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.
