We are looking for a talented and service-focused Patent Specialist to join our Intellectual Property team in our downtown Indianapolis, Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, or Fort Wayne offices. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and provide high-level service to both internal and external clients. This position involves both billable and value-added firm investment work.

What you'll do:

Provide overall support for all aspects of portfolio management
Assist in filing US, PCT and foreign regional patent applications and responses
Participate in patent filing strategy discussions and due diligence
Manage client and attorney dockets to ensure timely deadlines
Handle work related to ongoing US and foreign procedures and other activities
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with electronic filing procedures
Familiarity with US and PCT patent rules and procedures, as well as national laws and applicable deadlines (preferred)
Willingness to bill 800 hours annually

What we require:

Two-year associates degree and/or a paralegal certificate, or 2+ years of experience as a patent professional
Experience with patent prosecution or in a similar role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and electronic filing procedures
Knowledge of various court systems and filing requirements
Experience with composing routine correspondence
Familiarity with US and PCT patent rules and procedures, as well as national laws and applicable deadlines (preferred)
