The ideal candidate will have exceptional client service skills, strong organizational and communication abilities, and a high attention to detail. The Paralegal will be responsible for supporting a group of attorneys in the practice group through various administrative and legal duties. This is a non-exempt full-time position with a minimum of a high school degree required, although a four-year college degree and certificate in paralegal studies is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Assisting with miscellaneous projects assigned by practice group management and/or attorneys - Maintaining attorneys' calendars and scheduling conferences and meetings - Serving as one of three primary staff members interfacing with clients through phone, email, and meetings - Monitoring and managing all aspects of complex commercial real estate and corporate transactions - Managing transaction due diligence activities and maintaining large transaction files - Assisting in the preparation of real estate documents and exhibits - Analyzing title documents, legal descriptions, and surveys - Preparing and maintaining deal checklists for assigned transactions - Organizing corporate offering and buy/sell documents - Preparing and managing filings with the SEC and other agencies - Performing UCC financing statement and municipal searches - Assisting with specific client needs, such as document submission for recording or filing - Assisting with land use and zoning matters, including attending community meetings - Meeting position billing requirements and deadlines Requirements: - High school diploma or GED required, four-year college degree and certificate in paralegal studies preferred - 10-15 years of experience in real estate and/or business legal assistant or paralegal experience in a law firm or similar environment - Proficiency in MSWord, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as knowledge of Access database capabilities - In-depth knowledge of legal practices, terminology, transaction documents, and closing procedures - Flexible and solutions-oriented approach, ability to work under pressure - Ability to interact effectively with clients and exercise discretion - Experience supporting a busy business transactions practice The ideal candidate will also have experience working with title underwriters and be a Notary, although these are not required for the position. Education and Experience: - High school diploma or GED required, four-year college degree and certificate in paralegal studies preferred - 10-15 years of experience in real estate and/or business legal assistant or paralegal experience in a law firm or similar environment Additional Information: - This is a non-exempt full-time position - Travel required is negligible - Citizenship preferred is United States, clearance is not required.
