Summary: The Hawai`i State Judiciary is currently seeking a Circuit Court Clerk II (Lautenberg) for the 3rd Circuit in Kamuela, Hawaii. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining and authoring the official record of every action in a court of general jurisdiction, maintaining custody of all notices and documents presented in court, and directing courtroom procedures for complex, contested cases.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of work experience in a court or legal setting
- 6 months of courtroom experience with responsibility for authoring the official permanent record of court proceedings
- Ability to type at a rate of 40 net words per minute
Substitutions:
- Education at an accredited college or university in a paralegal, legal studies, law program, or a closely related field may be substituted for 6 months of specialized experience
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or a closely related field may be substituted for 1 year of specialized experience
Requirements:
- Must be qualified to possess a firearm or ammunition in accordance with state and federal laws
- Must be able to type at a rate of 40 net words per minute
