Job Overview:
The Hawai`i State Judiciary is seeking a District Court Clerk II for the 1st Circuit in Honolulu, Oahu. This position is responsible for authoring the official court record in a court of limited jurisdiction for various trial proceedings, including traffic, criminal, civil, and DUI cases. The District Court Clerk II will also prepare documents ordered by the court and perform other duties as required.
Job Responsibilities:
- Author the official court record in a court of limited jurisdiction for District Court trial proceedings
- Prepare documents ordered by the court
- Perform other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- 1 year of work experience in a court or legal setting
- 6 months of courtroom experience
- Ability to type at a rate of 40 net words per minute
Substitutions Allowed:
- Education at an accredited college or university in a paralegal, legal studies, law program, or closely related field may be substituted for 6 months of specialized experience up to a maximum of 1 year
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Political Science, or closely related field may be substituted for 1 year of specialized experience
