What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
There is a very positive culture and rapport with everyone at the firm. The firm is in a state of the art building with great amenities, and you always feel supported by auxiliary services such as HR.
What did you not like about this institution?
The commute to the firm can be terrible, and sometimes things move slowly due to outdated policies.

What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Great office, many great senior partners and paralegals.
What did you not like about this institution?
The Senior Associate and Junior Partner ranks struggle to follow the firm's "People First" philosophy. Pay is mediocre for a large firm. Not many opportunities for mentorship, and some of the promises they made were blow off.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution

Pro bono
Godfrey & Kahn recognizes that the legal community has a responsibility to ensure that all citizens have access to legal representation when needed and that the justice system operates in a fair and just manner. Accordingly, the firm encourages its attorneys to devote a minimum of 50 hours each year to pro bono services, and will give full billable hour credit for up to 50 hours of firm-approved pro bono services per year, with the potential for more depending on the case.

The goal of the program is to give summer associates the opportunity to experience life working an as associate at Godfrey & Kahn. Consistent with this goal, summer associates are given meaningful assignments from many different practice areas within the firm.
As a summer associate, you can expect to work with a diverse group of attorneys from multiple practice areas. The work you will perform is part of a larger project we have undertaken for our clients or our firm - it is never unnecessary or busywork. It is our expectation that your work will be incorporated into our final product and that your time will be billed to the client.
