Promotions are also extremely competitive and always takes way longer than you hope or imagine it would. As the environment is strict you should be careful not to make too many mistakes.

At Quarles & Brady LLP you are paid well if you perform. You are given the tools you need to perform well and also the training is excellent too. Salary and benefits are great. Career advancement opportunities are also great.

May become difficult to progress within organization as percentage of people leaving company is minimal. Some attorneys don't like new ideas; they like to stick with what has been happening for last few years.

Former Employee Mr. San Francisco

There needs to be some greater upward mobility. I think this would motivate associates to continue working at this firm.

This firm is a great place to work at. The staff here excels at challenging its employees. The firm meets and goes above expectations by offering competitive salaries, flexible hours, and great benefits. I've had the pleasure of working with very talented attorneys whose guidance and teachings have resonated throughout my career. It was a rewarding experience.

Unfortunately it would take a good while to move up in this firm. Management is amiable, but they are very firm and strict in their assessments. I have noticed that this leads to a somewhat high turnover rate among associates. But overall, there are no negatives that I feel are a deal-breaker. It is a good place to work at.

Able to leap tall buildings in a... no wait, that is for our superhero opening. For lawyers, you must be smart (but not talk about it all the time), hardworking, energetic, motivated (that is not a code word for "cut-throat"), have lots of interests, enthusiastic, and have no significant enemies. Celebrity status a plus unless you are the loser in the Who-Wore-It-Best feature of a tabloid magazine.

Diversity Write a review

At Quarles & Brady, every person counts, every day. We are leaders in mentoring and developing outstanding diverse attorneys, with percentages of women and diverse partners and associates exceeding national averages. Women and diverse attorneys head four of our nine offices, including our largest. Quarles & Brady is routinely ranked among the best law firms for women and diverse attorneys, family-friendly policies, informal training, and other categories that help promote a diverse workplace. We are proud of our efforts and the accolades that we have received. A true climate of diversity, though, cannot be measured by statistics, ratings, and awards alone. Fostering inclusion through diversity is one of the surest ways we know to provide the best results for our clients. Our commitment to diversity is not about winning prizes. It is about winning cases, negotiating the best deal, and obtaining the most secure patents. It is about employing a diversity of thought, creativity, and experience to understand our clients' objectives and serve as trusted advisors. And it is about making sure that we reflect and give back to the communities in which we practice.

Summer associate program

Let's just tell it like it is: our summer program is awesome! The 10-week program is designed to give you an accurate idea of what it is like to be a Quarles & Brady lawyer (plus a lot of free lunches). Our summer program means that you will be given a healthy variety of real work assignments for real clients (see Real Work Experiences). And you will have a chance to "try on" as many practice areas as you want during your summer with us. If you're already interested in a specific practice area, we will do everything we can to make sure you work with firm lawyers on projects in that area.
