Director, Managing Counsel- Employment Law at BNY
- Hybrid role located in NYC, NY Pittsburgh, PA OR Lake Mary, FL- hybrid 3 days- office
- Make an impact by providing specialized, expert employment legal advice and support to a leading global financial services company
- Viewed as a trusted internal resource capable of using knowledge of BNY businesses, products, services and/or strategies to articulate and advance legal positions
- Must have strong knowledge of federal, state and city employment laws and regulations and, have the ability to expertly advise, counsel and train clients on the same
- Strong employment litigation experience required, as well as experience in handling charges of discrimination
- Must have strong negotiation skills and background in M&A employment issues and enforcement of restrictive covenants
- Must have deep experience drafting and negotiating employment and separation agreements and developing policies, templates and guidance to ensure compliance
- Excellent legal and business judgment, a high degree of discretion, and excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing conditions in a complex matrix environment
- Advanced Legal Degree or local country equivalent degree usually required, along with 8-12 years minimum work experience in the practice of employment law as a qualified attorney
- Prior corporate legal experience within the financial services industry or experience in assigned practice area (., securities, employment, etc.) with an outside law firm preferred
