Job Title: Sr Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of a Sr Paralegal at the company is to support the legal staff by utilizing professional skills and expertise. Key duties include:
- Conducting legal and factual research, preparing analyses and summaries, and reviewing the research of others before attorney review.
- Drafting legal documents and correspondence for attorney review and approval.
- Providing timely responses and documents to requesting departments and outside agencies, and assisting outside counsel as needed.
- Preparing legal documents, including pleadings and discovery-related documents, and delivering documents on behalf of the company when an attorney's presence is not required.
- Assisting in planning, organizing, administering, and tracking programs and projects within the legal department.
- Developing and conducting training programs for managers and company personnel on legal issues.
- Collaborating with all departments to ensure timely handling and completion of the company’s legal activities.
- Processing and reviewing various legal documents and maintaining an activity log to ensure prompt action by the appropriate corporate department.
- Preparing articles about the Legal Department’s activities for publication in the company’s internal communication.
- Responding to requests for information and advice.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Paralegal certification or two years of paralegal experience, in addition to the required experience below.
- A minimum of five years of paralegal experience is necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Advanced knowledge of legal processes and systems.
- Advanced research, organizational, human relations, communications, and computer skills.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Job Conditions:
- Hours may vary based on organizational needs.
- Some travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a Litigation Paralegal supporting trial attorneys in complex litigation, including document management, drafting and filing responsive pleadings, engaging in discovery and law and motion practice, trial, and appellate practice.
