Job Title: Senior Specialist Legal Editor, Corporate and M&A

Job Responsibilities:

- Write, edit, and update Practical Law know-how and current awareness resources, focusing primarily on corporate law, business counseling, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
- Maintain and develop expertise on a wide range of corporate and M&A topics, ensuring that Practical Law resources are up-to-date with the latest legal and practice developments.
- Collaborate with other editors and services within Practical Law on content planning, resource production, and peer review.
- Develop proficiency in content and technology tools used for creating and publishing resources.
- Participate in special projects to provide subject-matter expertise for product development and innovation, including the use and development of AI-based legal technology tools.
- Foster relationships with lawyers and industry groups to ensure that content remains relevant and meets user needs.
- Assist with sales demonstrations for potential customers and contribute to marketing initiatives, including webinars.
- Support other products and initiatives within the company where Practical Law is fundamental.

Education and Experience Information:

- A Juris Doctor and a current license to practice law in at least one . jurisdiction.
- Minimum of eight years’ experience as a corporate and M&A lawyer, either at a law firm or as in-house counsel.
- Significant expertise in corporate law (entity formation and governance) and mergers and acquisitions (public or private, with familiarity in public company M&A being ideal).
- A sophisticated understanding of corporate and M&A lawyers' needs, including experience in drafting and negotiating M&A agreements and advising boards and senior management.
- In-depth knowledge of the Delaware General Corporation Law, Delaware Limited Liability Company Act, and Delaware case law.
- Ability to derive practical insights from legal and practice trends, with enthusiasm for improving legal services through AI-based technology tools.
- Experience with AI-based legal technology tools and an interest in expanding proficiency in AI legal applications.
- Passion for writing and excellent editing skills, with attention to detail, command of grammar, punctuation, plain English, and strong technical drafting skills.
- Self-motivation, excellent management, and organizational skills.
- Collaborative and positive attitude, with the ability to build relationships and support team members in both in-office and remote settings.

Salary Information:

- The base compensation range for eligible office locations, including New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC, is $134,680 - $250,120.
- For other eligible . locations, the base compensation range is $116,900 - $217,100.
- This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on enterprise and individual performance.
- Base pay is determined by factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. It is part of a comprehensive Total Reward program that includes flexible benefits and wellbeing programs.
