Job Title:
Business Office Clerk

Job Responsibilities:
The Business Office Clerk is responsible for organizing paperwork according to an efficient filing system and digitizing all important documents. The role requires a strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection. The primary goal is to preserve the law firm’s records and manage paperwork effectively. Essential duties include:

- Sorting and filing documents according to the appropriate classification, in line with established guidelines.
- Sorting and classifying information such as content, purpose, user criteria, or chronological, alphabetical, or numerical order.
- Performing general office duties, including typing, operating office machines, and sorting mail.
- Adding new information to file records and creating new records as necessary.
- Filing correspondence, cards, invoices, receipts, and other records in alphabetical or numerical order, as per the system used for that file.
- Assisting attorney teams in filing, scanning, and sorting.
- Activating new client files.
- Working with File Clerks in the Business Office concerning closed files.
- Completing daily reports to management.
- Handling checks and check processing systems.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Competencies required for this position include exceptional organizational and time management skills, meticulous attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines, outstanding attendance and punctuality, and teamwork capacity. The clerk should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, researching/problem-solving skills, and client service skills. An ability to use logic and reasoning to understand, analyze, and evaluate situations and exercise good judgment to make appropriate decisions is also important.

Education & Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous related experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is necessary.
- Experience with Salesforce software or other CRM systems is advantageous.
- Experience with a wide variety of office equipment is required.
- A valid driver's license and a clean/favorable driving record are mandatory.
- Check handling experience is preferred.
