Job Title: Assistant General Counsel - BGE Real Estate (Hybrid)
Job Responsibilities:
1. Handle and supervise a broad array of complex commercial real estate interests, including developments and related commercial legal assignments.
2. Evaluate matters impacting the Company’s business related to its facilities and real estate interests, assessing both legal and business risks.
3. Review and draft real estate documents such as commercial deeds, easements, licenses, purchase and sale agreements, and other contracts.
4. Advise real estate clients on commercial real estate and related matters.
5. Prepare and revise budgets and early matter assessments for matters involving outside counsel.
6. Provide lead direction and project leadership.
7. Undertake projects and duties assigned by the General Counsel or designee.
Education and Experience Information:
- An LLB or JD from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Maryland or able to obtain a license in Maryland if licensed in another jurisdiction.
- At least 7 to 10 years of professional experience in a real estate-related specialized area of law.
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal principles, practices, and procedures for complex assignments.
- Excellent legal research skills, analytical abilities, and knowledge of federal, state, and local law.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and to work under stressful conditions with time deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of professional experience in commercial real estate development law.
- Experience handling real estate matters for or on behalf of a corporation or business.
Salary Information:
- Annual salary: $164,. – $225,.
- Annual Bonus for eligible positions: 20%.
