Job Title: Assistant General Counsel - BGE Real Estate (Hybrid)

Job Responsibilities:
1. The primary responsibility of the Assistant General Counsel is to manage and supervise a wide range of complex commercial real estate interests, including development projects and related legal assignments. The role involves evaluating matters that may significantly impact the Company's business concerning the use of its facilities and real estate interests, assessing both legal and business risks, and advising clients accordingly.
2. The Assistant General Counsel is tasked with reviewing and drafting real estate documents such as commercial deeds, easements, licenses, purchase and sale agreements, and other contracts, providing guidance to clients on these matters.
3. The position requires preparing and revising budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel.
4. The role includes providing lead direction and project leadership as needed.
5. The Assistant General Counsel will undertake projects and duties as assigned by the General Counsel or their designee.

Education and Experience Information:
- The candidate must possess an LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in Maryland or be able to obtain a license to practice law in Maryland if licensed in another jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 7 to 10 years of professional experience in a real estate-related specialized area of law is required.
- The candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of the legal field to complete complex assignments.
- The role requires excellent legal research and analytical abilities, along with ongoing knowledge of federal, state, and local law.
- The candidate must have the ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, and possess skills to read and analyze legal materials and other data.
- Preferred qualifications include at least 5 years of professional experience in the commercial real estate development area of law and previous experience handling real estate matters for or on behalf of a corporation or other business.

Salary Information:
- The annual salary for the position will vary based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors, ranging from $164, to $225,.
- Eligible positions may receive an annual bonus of 20%.
