Job Title: Legal Assistant/Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Legal Assistant/Paralegal at the law firm involve managing personal injury files from start to finish. This entails gathering, requesting, and organizing clients' medical information, assisting in drafting settlement demands for insurance companies, and scheduling conferences with doctors, experts, clients, and other attorneys. The role also includes consistent client interaction, assisting in drafting various legal documents, e-filing documents, scheduling court appearances, assisting attorneys in court, and participating in trial preparation. Additionally, the individual may have the opportunity to engage in work with the criminal defense attorney and their assistant, although this role is expected to be limited and minimal. This offers the chance to gain experience in both personal injury and criminal defense practices.

Education and Experience Information:
While previous experience is helpful, it is not a mandatory requirement for this position. The role demands a high attention to detail and the ability to perform well under high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Salary Information:
The position is full-time, with a 40-hour workweek. The hourly wage ranges from $17 to $25, depending on experience. There is a 90-day probationary period, after which wages will be reassessed for a potential raise based on performance. The position does not include health insurance, but it offers generous vacation and holiday time post-probation, along with eligibility for a 401(k) program.
